Your car now boasts a high-gloss, hydrophobic shield designed to keep it looking pristine while providing long-lasting protection against environmental hazards. To ensure you get the most out of your ceramic coating, here’s everything you need to know about maintenance and care.

Why GYEON Ceramic Coatings?
GYEON ceramic coatings are industry leaders, offering cutting-edge nanotechnology that bonds to your vehicle’s paint at a molecular level. The result? A durable, water-repellent finish that resists dirt, UV rays, chemicals, and minor scratches. When paired with the proper maintenance routine, your coating can last for years while preserving your vehicle’s beauty.

Caring for Your Ceramic Coating
To maintain the performance and longevity of your ceramic coating, follow these essential guidelines:

1. The First 7 Days:
-
Avoid everything for 24 hours post-coating application! This includes water!
-
Avoid washing your vehicle: The coating needs time to fully cure to reach full strength. During this period, avoid contact with water, soap, or chemicals.
-
Handle spots immediately: If bird droppings or tree sap land on your car, gently remove them with a soft, damp microfiber towel. (Pro Tip: use the provided quick detailer and microfibre towel!)

2. Washing Your Vehicle:
After the curing period, follow these steps for regular cleaning:
-
Hand wash only: Avoid automatic car washes, especially those with abrasive brushes. We recommend the two-bucket method to prevent swirl marks and scratches in your car's freshly polished paint!
-
Use GYEON car care products: We recommend GYEON Bathe+, a pH-neutral soap designed for ceramic coatings that enhances hydrophobic properties while gently cleaning your vehicle.
-
Dry thoroughly: Use a soft microfiber drying towel to avoid water spots.

3. Frequency of Washing:
-
Wash your car every 2–4 weeks to prevent dirt and grime buildup that can reduce the coating’s effectiveness.

What to Avoid
-

-
Aggressive scrubbing tools: Stick to soft microfiber towels and wash mitts.
-
Neglect: Failing to maintain your coating can lead to reduced performance over time.
-
Only Rinsing without soap wash: This will cause scratches from rubbing the dirt into the paint if you dry it, or water spots if you do not.

Maintenance Methods
Rinseless Washing
Easy, quick maintenance for cars that are not overly dirty. It can be performed in a garage without making a mess. Note that rinseless is NOT the same as waterless washing.

Two Bucket Method
It is better suited for dirtier vehicles and cleaning dirt from cracks, crevices, wheels, and tires. We like to use a pressure washer, but it is not necessary. This technique uses at least 2 buckets and is the "standard" way of washing. Just make sure you dry the car afterward! Do not leave water on the car to dry, you will get water spots!

Automatic Car Washes
Hand washing is best - however, we live in a climate where that is not always possible. Winter gets cold and life is busy in the summer. If you go through an automatic car wash, ensure it is touchless! If necessary, wipe up any remaining water droplets with some detail spray and a soft microfibre towel.
Maintenance Program
Does this all sound like a lot of time and work?
Our Monthly Maintenance Program is the perfect way to keep your car looking great without any hassle. Each month, we’ll come to you and take care of the essentials while also maintaining the ceramic coatings or paint protection film. It’s a super convenient way to make sure your vehicle stays in top shape year-round, without you having to worry about it. Plus, it helps extend the life of your car’s protection treatments so it always looks fresh and well-maintained!
